Weekend brunch in a cozy setting

You’re welcome to enjoy a delicious, extensive brunch buffet every weekend. On Saturdays from 10am, on Sundays from 9.30am. Your table is reserved for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Our brunch is served indoors in our townhouse from October to early May. When the weather warms up again, we’ll move back out into the garden.

Our varied brunch menu includes:

pastries from the local baker’s
bread with savory and sweet (cheeses, ham, veggie dips, salmon, olives, …)
scrambled eggs, with or without bacon
Greek yogurt with artisan granola and fresh fruit
4 delicious seasonal salads and hot dishes
American pancakes with toppings
bread pudding and a dessert
filter coffee and tea from grandma’s jug
homemade iced tea, apple juice, flavoured water (other drinks can be ordered on site)

€40 per person (aged 12 and over) – €45.50 including a glass of bubbly (non-alcoholic options available too!)
Children aged 3 and over can join in for €19.50
One table, one bill. Please pay by card.

Are you the chosen best man organizing a unique bachelorette party? Or are you the godmother or godfather planning a surprise baby shower? Nothing cozier to celebrate than a delicious brunch at Alix – Maison d’Amis.

You can enjoy our brunch buffet whilst sitting comfortably in our cozy private dining room.

Exclusive breakfast in our B&B

Start your day in peace with a delicious breakfast in the intimate living room of our B&B, overlooking the awakening garden. On weekdays, we welcome a limited number of guests at just three tables, allowing you to enjoy an exclusive and cozy setting. Our breakfast consists of:

fresh pastries and bread
yogurt with granola and fresh fruit
an egg
apple juice, filter coffee and tea

Tuesday to Friday, by reservation only. €25 per person. Book your table and start the morning in complete tranquillity.

Is Alix suitable with children?

Children are very welcome at brunch and our afterworks! If they feel like drawing, we are happy to provide coloring pages and pencils at the table. If the brunch takes place in the garden, they can explore every corner of the garden. If brunch is held inside the mansion, the garden is also accessible, unless there is a private party going on at that time. If you want to be sure in advance, please ask us.

There is no play equipment in our garden, but you are welcome to bring your favorite toy. Unfortunately, playing football is not allowed, so it remains fun for our other guests and we have no broken windows in the conservatory.

If brunch is held in the garden, there’s definitely room for strollers. The manor house is very cosy but also more compact: we ask that you leave your stroller in the hall so our staff and other guests can keep moving easily.

What about the roms at the B&B? Children aged 12 and over can stay in the B&B. If you book the entire B&B as a holiday home, younger children are also welcome.

What means of payment do you accept?

We accept all common bank cards with Bancontact and Maestro, as well as Mastercard, Visa and American Express.

You can also pay with Payconiq at Alix.

Cash only creates risk, and it’s not hygienic either. So leave those bills in the bank. It’s safer for you and for us.

I can’t make reservations online for brunch, are you guys full?

Online brunch reservations can be made from 6 weeks in advance (sometimes earlier for special dates/parties). You cannot click on a date if the reservations are not yet open or if we are closed on that day (e.g. holiday or exceptional closing day on which there is no brunch).

If online booking is possible, but the reservation system does not find a place for you, you can register on the waiting list. The system will notify us so that we can manually check for you to see if there might still be a place. If there is, we will call you as soon as possible!

Is the brunch suitable for vegans?

Most of our brunch is vegetarian. As meat, we only serve fried bacon (optional with the scrambled eggs) and baked and Italian ham. But even if you eat vegan, we are happy to make sure you can enjoy our brunch. Just mention it with your reservation, and we’ll make sure there are plant-based milk and yogurt for you, among other things, and that you won’t be short of anything!

Can I come to brunch if I am pregnant?

Baby on the way? Even in that case, you can enjoy our brunch buffet without worries: there is a wide selection of pregnancy-safe treats. All the dairy we use during brunch is pasteurized. All vegetables are thoroughly rinsed and there are also prepared (non-raw) vegetables. Only the smoked salmon might be best left out.

I have allergies, can I come to you?

Certainly, we want everyone to be happy! Mention your dietary requirements when making your reservation and we will make sure you won’t be short of anything!

Are dogs welcome in the restaurant and garden?

We are dog-friendly, for friendly dogs 😉

Where can I park?

Alix is within walking distance of the Gent-Sint-Pieters train station, making it easily accessible by both bus/tram and train.

Bikes can be placed in the bike shed on our property.

The closest public parking is the B parking of station, it is less than a 10-minute walk from Alix. Use navigation (Waze/Google Maps) to enter the parking lot (via Valentin Vaerwyckweg/R4 or Sint-Denijslaan).

You can also park on the street (pay parking 9am-7pm, about €2.2/hour, yellow parking zone, free on Sundays). Use the on-street parking meters, or a parking app such as 4411 or EasyPark. Pay attention to parking signs and resident spaces.
Alix is outside the low-emission zone.

Will the brunch take place indoors or outdoors?

If you want to be sure in advance whether there will be indoor or outdoor brunch, feel free to ask before your specific date.

Welcoming so many guests to brunch every weekend does not happen by itself, it requires a whole organization, infrastructure and planning. Therefore, we also cannot move brunch from inside to outside and vice versa in a snap depending on the weather of the day. Twice a year we make a big SWITCH. In spring – sometime in early May – we move outside, all the tables are under one of our tents and you’ll find the buffet in the conservatory. Is it chilly for the time of year? Then there are fleece blankets and patio heaters, and then we ask you to put on an extra sweater. In the fall – around early October – we move the brunch cirucs indoors and welcome you to the two floors of our cozy mansion. The buffet is on the second floor.
